Head-Chair, Maria Luiza Lenz
Hi delegates! My name is Maria Luiza Lenz Cesar. I’m a junior at The British School of Rio de Janeiro, and I am honoured to chair the Junior Special Committee alongside Maria Laura and Antonietta. Ever since my first MUN conference in 2022, MUN has taken a special place in my heart, allowing me to create unforgettable memories. I am particularly excited about this year’s Junior Special Committee, and hope that you enjoy debating the topics just as much as we enjoyed choosing them. I would love for this conference to become just as special to you and leave you with equally memorable experiences, and for that reason, I strongly encourage you to participate and make the most of every opportunity to contribute, no matter how intimidating it may seem.
I look forward to meeting all of you at RioMUN! If you have any doubts or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Head-Chair, Maria Laura Peixoto
Hii delegates! My name is Maria Laura Peixoto, and I’m currently a Junior at EARJ Barra. I’m incredibly excited to be serving as the Head Chair for the Junior Special Committee.
My MUN journey started a few years ago in 6th grade when I decided to enter the club in my old school, and since then I’ve been doing it consistently over the past few years. MUN has brought me a lot of clarity and knowledge, not only just from the topics that are addressed in whichever committee you’re in, but also from the debates itself and the diplomatic environment. It’s allowed me to be open-minded to other’s opinions and to make sure to listen to all of their points without jumping to conclusions. I personally believe MUN is really important and beneficial for your high school journey, so don’t be afraid to join even if your current public speaking skills aren’t amazing yet! That’s why we have many conferences and many opportunities to learn and improve. Not only that, but you also get to make so many great friendships along the way that you’ll carry with you for life.
If you ever have any questions or need anything, don’t hesitate to send me an email! Even if it seems like something small, feel free to contact me through my email: marialauragapeixoto@gmail.com
