Leticia Loyola

Secretary-General

Esteemed delegates and advisors, my name is Leticia Loyola and I'm a rising senior at the Escola Americana do Rio de Janeiro. In November, I will have the honor of serving as Secretary-General of the inaugural edition of RioMUN. This conference has been a dream of mine for the past few years and I couldn't be more delighted that it is finally coming to life. Because of MUN, I've fallen in love with international relations and debate, which has allowed me to meet people from all over the world and truly find my voice. I hope RioMUN and Model United Nations as a whole becomes as special to you, as it is to me. Outside the committee room, you will probably find me playing or watching soccer. I'm a huge Flamengo supporter! I also adore reading and learning foreign languages. I'm eager to meet all of you and if you have any questions or would simply like to talk, feel free to contact me at lloyola@earj.com.br. See you soon!

Rafael Wu

Deputy Secretary-General

Greetings! I am Rafael Wu, a tenth grade student studying at Escola Americana do Rio de Janeiro. I am beyond honored to be the Deputy Secretary-General for the upcoming conference and I am excited to join the rest of the secretariat and the leadership team in creating a memorable RioMUN for all participants. Throughout my MUN career, meeting people during conferences and using the language of diplomacy to conduct meaningful debates and draft comprehensive resolutions have always interested me. Although we cannot physically gather for a conference this year, I am confident that you delegates will still be able to express your passion for model UN online! I wish you all the best of luck for this conference. If you have any concerns, feel free to contact me at rwu@earj.com.br.

Bruna Guerra

Chief Operations Officer

Greetings, delegates! My name is Bruna Guerra, and I am currently a junior at The British School of Rio de Janeiro. I am beyond excited to serve as your Chief Operations Officer for the first edition of the RioMUN and extremely delighted to work alongside such prominent people. My passion for MUN goes way back to 2016 when I was in 6th grade. Since then, MUN has become my favourite extracurricular and a part of my life. I am committed to making sure MUN has the same impact on all of you as it had on me. Outside of school, you are likely to see me out with my friends, doing yoga, at the beach or doing multiple IB Maths past papers. If I'm not doing any of those things, I am likely to be re-watching my all-time favourite; Gossip Girl. If you have any questions, ideas, concerns or want to chat, please contact me at 2022brunaguerra@britishschool.g12.br or message me at +55 (21) 99587-2828. See you all soon! <3

Cecilia Loyola

Deputy Chief Operations Officer

Hello Delegates! My name is Cecilia Loyola, and I’m a rising senior at the American School of Rio de Janeiro (EARJ). This year, I will have the honor of serving as Deputy COO at the inaugural edition of RioMUN. I've been involved with this conference since the very beginning stages, and it's with the greatest pleasure that I'll be part of making it happen. My passion for MUN started in 9th grade. Since then, I’ve found great value in the activity, which has honed my ability to think critically and come up with creative solutions. MUN has helped me discover many passions such as foreign affairs and public speaking through the study of current and historical events.  Since then, I’ve attended 13 conferences, as a delegate and chair, and served in the leadership team for MUN Impact. My goal with this year’s conference is to get all delegates thinking outside the box by creating an immersive experience with exciting new topics and procedures. Outside of debate, you can find me playing soccer, watching Netflix, and procrastinating over upcoming deadlines. I also enjoy writing, learning languages, and reading. In the conference, I hope to see a high level of debate, various twists and turns, and a lot of fun. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at cloyola@earj.com.br. I am beyond excited to have this opportunity and look forward to seeing you all at the conference!

Eduarda Barreto

Press Corps Director

Hi everyone, my name is Eduarda Barreto, I'm a rising senior at The British School, Rio de Janeiro, and I am more than honoured to be serving as your Press Corps Director for the first edition of the RioMUN. My passion truly flourished when I joined the Press Corps back in 2019. I remember how excited I was to feel like I was part of a team finally.

Following my first conference as a Press delegate, I became involved in the school's MUN Club, helping younger delegates explore the Press Corps, the different approaches it carries, and perfecting their journalism and multimedia skills, therefore, establishing a Press Club. MUN has shaped me in the person that I am today. I have developed several skills such as resilient, communicative, disciplined, a teammate, a leader, a friend, and most importantly, I have grown immensely as an individual. When I found my way into the Press Corps, I instantly felt at home; I remember how excited I was to finally feel like I was part of a team. From shy and more reserved students to outgoing and extravagant ones - like myself - I truly believe everyone can find their place within the team. If you have any doubts or concerns, or just want to chat, please don't hesitate to contact me anytime at 2022eduardabarreto@britishschool.g12.br. Hope to see and work with you all very soon! :)
